The Institutional Development department raises additional operating funds to support and enhance the Cultural District, its growth, and its development. The department does this in a number of ways - direct mail solicitations, staff campaigns, grants, cultivations and special events. -Full for Fall 2010
As the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust's Department of Education and Community Engagement, we are committed to providing educational experiences to a multicultural audience of all ages. Our mission is part of the Trust's goal of creating cultural vitality in Pittsburgh. We work with arts organizations, universities, corporations, and educators to develop educational and entertaining programs that nurture an appreciation for the arts. Our ArtSTART programs focus on bringing the arts to students. ArtsREACH programs focus on meeting the needs of under-served populations. ArtSMART programs focus on providing opportunities for educators to share and enjoy the arts.
First Night® Pittsburgh is a unique, family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration focused on the arts. Held in more than 200 cities worldwide, the festival is a wonderful way to bring in the New Year in an uplifting, alcohol- free atmosphere. Centered in the Cultural District, First Night Pittsburgh has something for everyone, from children’s activities and performances by nationally-known musicians, to installations by local artists and a spectacular fireworks finale. Interns will have the opportunity to assist with First Night marketing, promotions, social media, booking/programming coordination and other administrative projects. Note: Candidates for this department must also submit two writing samples from a school/volunteer/other project, and a 300-word narrative on the “best arts event you have attended in the last year.” -This internship runs from September to mid-January
The Marketing & Communications Division of The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust provides internship opportunities throughout the year for qualified candidates who are in a related program of study and have a strong interest in business administration, marketing, public relations, advertising and publications. The selected intern will participate in the marketing and promotion of shows presented by The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, in the writing and production of Trust publications, and various projects to advance the mission of the Trust. Assignments may include development and distribution of press releases, copywriting assignments, archival and administrative assistance, and participation in the planning and execution of promotional projects. Every effort is made to provide the intern with projects that may serve as portfolio samples. Intern candidates should possess excellent writing and communication skills and experience with computer programs such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Pittsburgh International Children's Theater sponsors, presents, promotes, and premieres international, national, and regional performing arts and visual arts programming of professional quality for the cultural enrichment and education of children and families. One of only four international theater festivals for children in the USA, the Pittsburgh International Children’s Festival brings together artists from around the world, families from throughout the Northeast, and organizations from across Allegheny County. The Festival features professional theater, dance, music, visual arts plus a grounds area bursting with crafts, activities, workshops and much more!

The mission of Shared Services is to improve the financial condition of its member organizations through collaborative sourcing of commodities and services and joint marketing efforts that lead to increased ticket sales. The department covers three distinct areas of operation: Sourcing, Marketing Research, Ticketing and Information Technology. -Not Available
IS, the Trust's computer, network and technology department, is organized in two groups, IT and Web. The IT group is responsible for our information technology needs (PCs, software, network, etc.). The Web group oversees the Trust's on-line activities (Web site, intranet, etc.). While we're organizationally two groups, we function as one department. IS staff members from both groups work closely together to fulfill your requirements and meet the Trust's technology needs. Often crossing organizational lines, the IS team is committed to providing the best support, service and technology leadership in the industry. -Not Available
