As Ms. Ascani was growing up in an Air Force family, her mother introduced her and her brothers and sisters to the vocal greats of the 1930s and 1940s. After falling in love with singing, she graduated from college with a Bachelor of Music degree from Trinity University, in San Antonio, Texas, and began singing in San Antonio and Dallas/Ft. Worth nightclubs. Ms. Ascani then moved to New York City in 1986 to pursue her dream to "sing in one of the most challenging cities in the world" and began singing in some of New York City’s venues and private arenas. In the summer of 1999, Ms. Ascani met her husband-to-be and moved to Pittsburgh to be married. Ms. Ascani soon introduced herself to local agents and club owners and soon became a sought after vocal presence in the Pittsburgh area clubs. She has been frequently called on to perform in and around town ever since. Tony Mowod and Bob Studebaker welcomed her to the area by playing her CD on their WDUQ jazz program.
